40 YEARS OF BUILDING FOR TODAY AND TRAINING FOR TOMORROW
The Phoenix Building and Construction Trades Council was granted its charter by
the National Building and Construction Trades Department on July 21, 1965.  It
had 16 affiliated local unions covering most of the state of Arizona.

For the past 40 years the council has worked to help building trade unions make
job sites safer, improve apprenticeship training, upgrade journeymen training,
organize new workers, support elected officials who support working families,
improve wages, and working conditions through collective bargaining
agreements, and project labor agreements.

The National Building and Construction Trades Department approved action that
allowed the Phoenix Building and Construction Trades Council to merge with the
Southern Arizona Building Trades Council.  The merger was complete on
November 17th 2004, creating the Arizona State Building and Construction
Trades Council with 17 affiliated local unions covering the state of Arizona.  With
the merger of the two councils complete the Arizona State Building and
Construction Trades Council will
begin to build for today and train for tomorrow.
